By now those of you living or working in Dublin should have spotted advertisements like this one by Rabbit Hole Promotions around Dublin City – bright, interesting and inviting you to Laya Healthcare’s City Spectacular. The advertisement above boasts of the Street Performance World Championship and mentions that City Spectacular takes place in Merrion Square from July 11th to July 13th and Dublin Citywide from July 11th to July 27th. Well did you know that the Festival will also be taking place in Cork City too? Did you know that Laya Healthcare’s City Spectacular Festival aims to be the biggest festival of the summer? STREET PERFORMANCE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP – INTERNATIONAL STREET PERFORMERS, LIVE MUSIC CONCERTS & A FOOD VILLAGE

Dublin’s Merrion Square (July 11th – 13th) and Cork’s Fitzgerald Park (July 19th & 20th)

• Under the brand new name of Laya Healthcare’s City Spectacular this year aims to be even bigger and better!
• That’s bigger and better than last year’s turn out of over 300,000 attendees!
• Parks in Dublin and Cork will be transformed and will offer free festival fun for all the family!
• In addition to the fantabulous Street Performers, this year will include a ‘Go Metro Music Stage‘ in Dublin for live music, a Food Village, Petting Zoo and Family Area plus a load of other surprises!
• There will be a pie throwing ‘Kid’s Court with Ray D’Arcy‘ where kids get their own back on their loving parents.
• ‘Today FM Irish Summer’ will be all about red lemonade, 10p bags and blasts from the past tunage.
• The ‘ESB Spark Your Imagination’ area is for those kiddies with brain power and who enjoy workshops.
• ‘Outdoor Living Room‘ will be an outdoor living and lounging about in room … sweet!
• Live Music will come in the shape Dublin’s The Young Folk, Ireland’s only New Orleans-style Brass Band, The Booka Brass Band and Dublin Afrobeat Ensemble but to name a few and will all be found on the ‘Go Metro Music Stage‘. Click here for a link to the artists and stage times 
• Guinness World Record Champion Sword Swallower Aerial Manx, YouTube loop artist Mr.Woodnote, strait-jacket escapologist Rob Roy Collins and last year’s world champions Cork acrobatic duo Lords of Strut will all be performing!

… the festival is collaborating with those at the heart of the city including a Street Art Walking Tour with acclaimed street artist Will St.Leger, Art Exhibition with screen printing group Damn Fine Print, Midsummer Night’s Dream themed banquet dinner with Dublin’s cutting-edge and hip collective Hunt and Gather and a Vintage Gaming Night at Lighthouse Cinema with Fade Street’s video game store R.A.G.E. Dublin’s City Soul Festival, now in its 8th year, is rebranded as ‘City Picnic’ and this free music concert will run in Merrion Square on July 26th and 27th.’ (cityspectacular.com)
