NEON ATLAS Release ‘Somewhere’ for Pieta House: Suicide and Self Harm Crisis Centre
Wednesday December 09 2015
Neon Atlas, are releasing a new song on December 9th called ‘Somewhere’ in aid of Pieta House: Suicide and self-harm crisis centre. All proceeds from the sale of the ‘Somewhere’ single will go to Pieta House. This is an amazing gesture for a very important cause. If you have Christmas stockings to fill this could make a great gift not just for its recipient but for Pieta House. “The track will be available on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, and the usual digital platforms.”
Pieta House, the centre for the prevention of self-harm or suicide opened over nine years ago with Lucan in County Dublin the centre of operations. In the intervening years they have seen and helped over 18,000 people in suicidal distress or engaging in self-harm, and opened up eight subsequent centres, three in the greater Dublin area – Ballyfermot, Tallaght and Finglas and five further centres to cater for the rest of the country in Limerick, Cork, Tipperary, Galway and Kerry.
From humble beginnings, Pieta House has grown to almost 180 therapists and administration staff, and the demand for our service hasn’t let up. To that end, in 2014 alone, over 5,000 people came through our doors suffering from suicidal ideation or engaging in self-harm. This essential service deserves your support.
Neon Atlas are a Cork-based alt-indie outfit that have been drawing a lot of attention from local and national media of late. They have just released their second album ‘Graffiti Reality’ (available through Spotify, iTunes, Amazon), on their own label ‘Demeanour Records’. Graffiti Reality is the follow-up to 2013’s critically acclaimed ‘Absolute Magnitude’ and has been nominated for several awards in Ireland, attracting attention from both the UK and US.
