The Green Door Market

The Green Door Market

So I was at it again a couple of week’s ago … Yelping around the place. This time I brought my gorgeous little sister with me and we went to explore all that the newish (it’s only two months old after all) The Green Door Market at Newmarket in Dublin 8 had to offer.

The Green Door Market Dublin

I couldn’t wait as I knew nibbles were in store. I was also looking forward to meeting the folk behind and in front of the stands at this great food market addition to the City of Dublin.

Open Thursday and Friday’s 12-7pm and on Saturday’s 9.30-4.30pm The Green Door Market is a special shopping destination.

It’s indoors which I was thankful for as it was a soaking wet day when we visited. It isn’t far from Dublin City Centre and you could walk it in about 10-15 mins. You might need a bus back depending on how laden down with groceries you are and if you drive there’s plenty of parking spaces right outside the market.

Inside you are greeted with wafts of deliciously fresh smells from hot foods to freshly baked breads, fresh juices to fried sausages.

The market is easy to navigate. There is a dining area to munch on your lunch before you even get home, a area for the little ones to play in – happy children, happy parents.

Although each stallholder is in competition with each other for your attention to buy their wares, it’s undoubtedly a healthy competition and the sense of community is evident as stallholders buy goods from each other for their own creations.

Still new and still growing The Green Door Market will with time be bursting at the seams with new stallholder additions which will not only include food but non-food goods and events too.

Managed by Oonagh Duggan, who showed us around the market that day, the vision for the small Board of Directors and Stallholders of the Market is clear – Fresh Irish Organic Produce and Quality Goods.

Is this a recommendation to visit, spend and support? Well of course it is!
