Cullen – Margaret River White
This week I would like to recommend a white wine from the Wilyabrup and Margaret River region in Australia. Margaret River White comes from Cullen Wines who began winegrowing over 40 years ago.
This white wine is produced from biodynamically grown grapes. Biodynamic wine is everything organic wine is but goes even further. Everything from growing, pruning and picking is done at certain times, taking in astrological influences, lunar cycles and working the vineyard as an ecosystem.
Now you may say that this is a load of nonsense but this is the new trend now, in grape growing and wine production.
Margaret River White is packed full of flavour and full of grape varieties, six varietals in total, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillion, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Verdelho and Riesling.
You can pick up a bottle of Cullen – Margaret River White for around €15 in all good Off Licences.
Enjoy, Sláinte,
Patrick
