Salterio Albariño Rias Baixas, North West Spain
This week’s ‘Bevvy of the Week’ is a white wine that comes from the wine-producing region of Rias Baixas in the north-west of Spain. The wine is called Salterio and it’s made from 100% Albarino. I’m a big fan of Spanish whites however I hadn’t tried a wine from the Rias Baixas region before this one. I can honestly say I wasn’t disappointed.

Salterio Albarino is a light fresh white wine. It’s crisp and dry with subtle flavours of peach and pear with a soft earthy character.
The alcohol content is quite high at 13%. Wines made from the Albarino usually come in at around 11.5% abv, so it does have a bit of depth to it.
A bottle costs around €13.
Enjoy, Sláinte,
Patrick
