Bevvy of the Week – Santa Rita Casa Real Cabernet Sauvignon

Santa Rita Casa Real Cabernet Sauvignon

Bevvy of the Week - Santa Rita Casa Real Cabernet Sauvignon

This week I would like to recommend a very special wine from Chile called Santa Rita Casa Real Cabernet Sauvignon.

I was lucky enough to have tried this wine a few weeks back and I wasn’t disappointed.

Casa Real is produced from the oldest vines from the heart of Santa Rita’s vineyards in the Maipo Vally. They don’t produce this wine every year it’s only in years of outstanding vintages.

Santa Rita Casa Real Cabernet Sauvignon is rich and full-bodied. There’s so much going on with the flavours it’s hard to nail it to just a few but black currants, berries, plums and tobacco all show through. Tannins are firm but soft and there’s a long lingering finish.

Casa Real is a real treat and is definately one for red wine lovers. A bottle of this good stuff will set you back around €35.

Enjoy, Sláinte,

Patrick
