Bevvy of the Week – Smithwicks Long Summer Ale

Smithwicks Long Summer Superior Ale

The people at Smithwick’s are at it again. After a successful launch of their Smithwicks Pale Ale back in 2011, Smithwicks have now produced a bevvy just for the summer. Smithwicks Long Summer Superior Ale has been brewed with summer in mind. It’s a really enjoyable ale with subtle citrus, caramel and tropical fruit flavours. It’s fresh with a lovely crisp finish.

Smithwicks Long Summer Superior Summer Ale

I think Smithwicks have come a long way since their basic ale which is well-known and loved by many. But with these new brews they’re opening up the name Smithwicks to a whole new generation.

We all know how many people are turning to ales and craft beers in Ireland and I think Smithwicks Long Summer will fit right in. Hopefully on these long hot summer evening’s.

So keep your eye out for Smithwicks Long Summer. But take note, it is a limited edition so you may want to stock up. 500ml bottles are available and should cost €2.59 alc 4.5%.

Enjoy, Sláinte,
