Family Events at the Pavilion Theatre

Soon ‘schools out for Summer’ so for all you folks out there with little ones it’s time to get planning on what to do to make summertime memorable … holidays abroad, visiting ‘the relations’, ice-cream, visits to the beach, walks in the park, picnics and maybe if those little mites are good as gold a trip to a show or two! (I’m not quite at that stage yet as Smith is only 10 weeks old but I am always on the look out for news on family events especially now that I’ve just started a Parenting category here on The Life of Stuff.)
Here are two such shows that are taking place at the Pavilion Theatre in Dun Laoghaire, ‘The Way Back Home‘ and ‘Puss in Boots‘.
Why not make a day of it if you can and if the weather permits, take you and your little ones for a walk along the pier. There’s also a great market in the People’s Park on Sundays … just a thought.
Here’s the link to the Pavilion Theatre website www.paviliontheatre.ie and below is info on the shows …

When a boy discovers a single-propeller airplane in his closet, he does what any young adventurer would do: he flies into outer space!
Millions of miles from earth, the plane begins to sputter and quake, so the boy must make a daring landing on the moon. But as it turns out, he is not alone up there…
Branar Téatar and Denmark’s Teater Refleksion have joined forces to produce The Way Back Home, based on the hugely successful book by Irish author Oliver Jeffers. This new show combines puppetry, original music and the distinctive and evocative design of Teater Refleksion’s Mariann Agaard to realise a beautiful and imaginative story on stage.
Please Note: This is a show without words
Puss in Boots

Age Suitability: 4yrs +
Would you trust a talking cat? You never know, he might turn you from a pauper to a prince just like the hero of this story, brought to vivid life on our incredible sloping stage by Patrick Lynch from CBeebies. Using smoke and mirrors and hidden trap doors he’ll show you how this sure-footed feline fools both the King and the Ogre to put his master at the top. A host of puppets, a working windmill and an avalanche of fruit and nuts await you in this classic furry tail! It’s the cat’s whiskers!
