Peru – South America – My Experience in Photo’s
Peru is an amazing country. The highlight for most visitors to Peru is Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail. This ‘Lost City of the Inca’ truly is spectacular and whether you arrive there by foot, having trekked the trail or by bus from the nearby Cuzco, there is no doubting its beauty and historical wonder. However there is even more to Peru than the amazing Macchu Picchu and Patrick and I were lucky enough to get a very warm feeling of what this bright and colourful country offers from travelling for a number of weeks there.
We arrived in Peru from the Chilean border and made our way North to Cuzco visiting Tacna, Moquegua, Arequipa and then headed south to Puno where we visited Lake Titicaca, its islands and crossed the border into Bolivia. Although we only touched on what Peru has to offer its visitors, we got a great feel of the country and hope to one day return to visit Nazca, Lima, Codillera Blanca and find out what the Pacific Coastline has to offer.
The photo’s below are to give you a feel for what Peru means to me, they are my ‘Five Fabulous Reason to Visit Peru’ in photo’s. They include photo’s from the ‘White City’ of Arequipa, its beautiful architecture, the Santa Catalina Monastery, and the Colca Canyon (which is one of the deepest in the world) where we took in the fantastic scenery below us and watched beautiful condors soaring in the sky above us; Cuzco and The Sacred Valley, the amazing Machu Picchu, Puno, Lake Titicaca and its breath-taking islands.
