In January of this year I was asked if I would like to review The Symprove 12 Week Programme. Honestly I hadn’t heard of it before I received the email and press release but after reading how it should effect my health for the better by balancing the bacteria in my gut I agreed.

We need balanced gut bacteria.

The results that I am about to share with you, are, like all my reviews, honest. If I was in any doubt as to the benefits of Symprove or if they had not yielded the results I had hoped for, then I would not be sharing this post with you.

So let’s get personal, more personal that I have ever gotten here on The Life of Stuff. Let’s talk about my gut. Those who do not want to know about my gut please have a read of my many other blog posts.

I’m 36 years old (that was hard to admit) and up until I started taking Symprove and for as long as I can remember (minus baby brain) I did not ‘move’ every day. For the majority of the time my ‘normal’ was to ‘move’ a few times a week. On occasions it would be more frequent, and sometimes less. You might resonate with this yourself as you read this or you might, like my mum, be shocked by it and urge me to stock up on prune juice … but joking aside, I was so used to it that it didn’t bother me and I had gotten so used to being bloated that I didn’t even notice when I was. I think I actually convinced myself that it is normal for some people to only ‘move’ every few days. I was wrong, obviously.

What is Symprove?

“Symprove is a water-based multi-strain supplement that contains 4 unique strains of live activated bacteria. These include: L. rhamnosus, E. faecium, L. acidophilus, and L. plantarum. Normally a healthy gut would already contain all four of these, however when it doesn’t, it can soon become unbalanced.” (symprove.com)

Essentially a water based liquid probiotic, Symprove has been proven to relieve bloating, constipation, stomach cramps, diarrhoea and alleviate the symptoms associated with IBS, IBD and Ulcerative Colitis, all within its 12 week programme.

Why is it Better than other Probiotics?

It’s better because it is ALIVE when it ARRIVES, then it SURVIVES and THRIVES, literally. The live bacteria that is needed to help restore the gut in other probiotics that are either yogurt based or freeze-dried don’t survive stomach acid, however Symprove’s four special bacteria strains do. They arrive, survive and thrive.

How do you take Symprove?

You take a capful of Symprove every morning 10 minutes before you eat or drink. You refrigerate the bottle and then you get on with your day.

My 12 Week Symprove Results

As this is a 12 Week programme I feel that the best way for me to share with you my results is by updating this post after every four weeks. By doing it this way, the results will be clear in my mind and memory, and I feel it’s the best way to keep my review honest.

Symprove Results Week 1-4

Day one and Symprove worked its magic! I was actually really surprised but was skeptical that it would keep up its good work. However I am really happy to say that I can take that skeptical hat off and put it back in its box for another while because Symprove has been working its magic on my gut everyday for the past four weeks (I’m actually into week five now).

Although I am not feeling the most comfortable sharing this information with you, I am also happy to share it with you because it could help you too. My gut clock is definitely on the mend, and my body is responding like clockwork! 

I was a little concerned that I’d forget to take the capful of Symprove every morning 10 minutes before I eat or drink, but the routine became easy very quickly. It’s like second nature now to go to the fridge first thing every morning and pour myself a measure.

Other benefits I noticed was a spike in energy levels after the first few days. I don’t feel bloated and actually noticed this feeling on my belt buckle. If I improve my exercise routine and keep an eye on my diet, I have a great feeling that I’ll notice this lack of bloating even more.

Symprove Results Week 5-8

Weeks five to eight have flown by and taking the capful of Symprove every morning is like second nature. It’s hard to say whether my energy level has risen since the first couple of weeks but it’s definitely at a good point so I’m happy to maintain that. The most important thing is that I’m still moving every day. Which is something I’m happy to have gotten used to.

Symprove Results Week 9-12

I have to admit that now the course has come to an end I do have my doubts as to whether my gut is going to keep on doing those great things it has been doing whilst using Symprove. Will my body go back to its usual and irregular ways? The past twelve weeks have been a great kick-start to get me moving, in the literal sense too. My hope is that it continues and if I need another boost in a few months it is always an option. But for now I’m going to concentrate on feeding my body the right fuel to hopefully maintain the efforts of the past three months.

It is recommended that you take Symprove for 12 weeks to reap the full benefits of a healthy gut. To encourage you to do so, Symprove will sponsor the last four weeks of your programme, which basically means that you’ll only pay for the first eight weeks. 

The cost of a full 12 week programme (12 bottles incl the four free bottles) is €190.00. This may seem expensive but if you break it down it’s about €16 per week or roughly €2.30 a day, which really isn’t bad if like me you’d pay anything up to €3.50 for a coffee on the go, and coffee isn’t going to give you a balanced gut!

  4. As I type this I’m frantically looking to get Symprove, I began using it after years of debilitating IBS and may I emphasize debilitating to the point of not being able to leave my house. Symprove has literally given me my life back….. but I’ve run out. I did order it thro two healthfood shops but they didn’t get it in. I’m online collecting phone numbers of all listed stockists to start ringing around in the hope of getting it asap. So yes I totally relate to your article and can’t recommend it highly enough.
