The Loft Market, Dublin – Art, Fashion, Jewellery

The Loft Market, Top Floor, Powerscourt Town Centre, Dublin 2

I’ve blogged on Winter Wish Lists for 2012 on more than one occasion and for most of the items on these lists I’ve wished for, I’ll still be wishing for them this time next winter as most of them are simply out of my price range … but sure that’s where the wishing part comes in. Now when I say that I WISH that I could put a big ribbon around the The Loft Market and gift it to myself … I tell no lie! I visited the store last week and practically fell in love with every piece there! Now the wish of gifting myself the whole store will most likely never happen! However, I don’t feel in the least bit dismayed as I can gradually gift myself (or strongly hint at family and friends to buy me) pieces from the store bit by bit, over time,  as not only did I fall in love with the items, I fell in love with the price tags (well most of them) so maybe this winter I will be able to make a little part of a wish come true.

So what exactly is The Loft Market …

Well, The Loft Market is a Boutique Fashion and Design Collective, both in the Heart of Dublin City and in the Heart of the Creative Quarter. It is both a home and a platform for Independent Irish, Artists, Designers, Collectors and Creators and has been going strong since 2006 … which makes it an Institution for Irish Design, in my mind!

… and what pieces am I talking about?

I’m talking about … Unique, Fresh, Funky, Affordable, Artistically, Irish Designed pieces that have been designed and created with passion and artistic foresight … about beautifully designed jewellery creations that you will want as soon as you see them, pieces that are unique … some are one of a kind, other pieces have sisters and brothers in different colours …and guess what you’ll want them too! I’m talking about fashionably designed clothing from Irish Designers who design clothes that range from classic, stylish designs to on-trend, fashion forward, funky designs … about beautifully unique and handcrafted wearable couture hats. I’m talking about vintage clothing, bags, hats and accessories that have been carefully sourced with fashion and style in mind.

Now that Christmas is really only around the corner, why not support Irish Design and the Irish Fashion Industry by buying one item or more? The Loft Market will give you plenty of inspiration for gifts (and not just for Christmas, mind you) and not only will your loved ones receive a uniquely designed fashion/art piece but you will be supporting Irish Artists and Designers … which is like giving them a gift by making their Christmas better too.

In between the drooling and coveting, I did manage to take a few photo’s (thanks Bev!) … the photo’s don’t do these fantastic creations justice so thoughtfully I have included links to the Designers I have mentioned in this post. For a full list of the Designers you can visit The Loft Market’s website here but I would highly recommend seeing them in person as I think you too will fall in love!
