From brushing up on Ireland’s history and heritage, to learning about Irish nature. Take a walk through the heritage village, and the woodlands, and then out onto the peatlands boardwalk. Grab a coffee or some lunch and dine outside, amongst the trees. And if you have young children, well, a few hours can turn into a full day out – Just take a look at our adventurous day –
Learn about Ireland’s History & Heritage
From the 1798 John Doorly House, to the Irish Famine and ‘Emigration Cottage’, step inside and learn as you walk. There’s and ‘Early Christian Exhibition’, and ‘Stone Age Settlements’, the later of which were a big hit with the boys – we nearly moved in!
Visit the Pet Farm
From the white haired Toggles aka ‘Houdini’ from the movie ‘Little Grey Fergie’ and probably the most famous goat in Ireland to the cutest of bunny rabbits, there are lots of happy looking animals for children to adore.
Catch the Train
The Lullymore train takes you around the park, where you can spot the next place you want to be. Play your cards right and like Smith, you might even get the chance to sound the bell!
