Festivals this May 2018 on the Island of Ireland

There’s an old saying that my mum refers to if she see’s me (or anyone for that matter) tempted to bare my pasty white arms on a warm Spring day that goes ‘Never shed a clout till May is out’ (the original is ‘Ne’er cast a clout till May be out’). And although her take on the 18th century saying is a bit more modern, the message hasn’t changed, and is still as clear as it was back in the day – keep your clothes on until Summer. With the psychotic weather most of Ireland has dealt with this April, it might seem easy to obey by this saying. However May is on the cusp and there are festivals galore on this Island of Ireland that will be well deserved of the unclothing of ones wintery robes.

Here’s to t-shirts and bare ankles … come on May we need some Vitamin D and inspiration … and on that note here are the Festivals you should know about to help you get it … Soak up the film, theatre, dance, literature, music and culture …
