Conrad Dublin
The five star Conrad Dublin can be found on Earlsfort Terrace in Dublin City Centre. Restyled and refurbished in style to the tune of €13 million euros in recent years, this Autumn the hotel launched its brand new Conrad Family Room. And this month Patrick, myself and the boys were given the opportunity to experience the family room as guests.
We couldn’t have picked a better weather weekend. It was wonderfully wintery – dry but chilly. And those wintery vibes were enhanced with the festive lights adorning Conrad Dublin, and its gorgeous Christmas tree in the lobby. It was the perfect way to kick the festive season off in style!
Our Conrad Family Room Experience
On arrival we were warmly welcomed to the hotel. Check-in was a breeze. The boys were gifted a gorgeous story book each. And the Concierge helpfully brought us to our rooms. Notice how I said rooms? You’ll understand more soon.
You see the beauty of the Conrad Family Room is that it gives a family more room. Because the Conrad Family Room has large interconnecting King and Twin bedrooms that offer its guests the luxury of space. And believe me, now that the boys are out of cot beds, that’s exactly what we all need!
Our Family Rooms at Conrad Dublin
Our King Bedroom was gorgeous from dawn to dusk. Five star in name and five star in features, from the bed to the bathroom.
We loved the design features throughout the room. The curved sofa by the window, the gold lamp on the desk that had a built in electronics charging system – very clever. To the lighting, textures and colours.
Connected to our room through doors we could easily open and close, was the boys Twin Bedroom. As stylish and luxurious as ours, with ample space for them to play. And a feature both Patrick and I were very impressed with – the ‘out of reach’ double locking system on their bedroom door to the corridor. An important feature when travelling with little adventurers, and a feature we’d love to see everywhere we go.
But did they appreciate their room? How could they not? What with a personalised plate of beautifully crafted sweet treats and a basket of toys to play with. How could any child refuse its charm?
Dinner at Conrad Dublin
We decided to dine at the hotel’s The Coburg Restaurant for dinner during our stay. The service was attentive and food comforting. I can happily recommend the Crab & Shrimp Burger and because I couldn’t resist a cocktail, I can recommend the Isle in the Sky cocktail from neighbouring Lemeul’s Lounge and Bar.
A surprise to us was that children under 12 years old eat for free, when accompanied by a paying adult. And on that note it was lovely to see a Children’s Menu consisting of more than just burgers and chips. The Children’s Menu at The Coburg featured mussels and quesadillas, with an option of ordering half-portions from the main menu also available.
Returning to our rooms in the evening was a delight. The beds turned down with sweet treats to enjoy.
Milk & Cookies
But the best thing EVER according to our two littles was the delivery of warm milk and cookies that they got to enjoy before a sound nights sleep.
The Coburg Breakfast at Conrad Dublin
Breakfast is served in The Coburg each morning. And the selection that’s included in your B&B stay is fantastic. From fresh breads and pastries to freshly cooked eggs and meat. I took pleasure building my own to include Eggs Benedict complete with toasted muffin and hollandaise sauce. Features of the exclusive menu included freshly made waffles with fresh berries … a favourite for tastes of all ages.
When we weren’t enjoying the comforts of our hotel rooms we were out exploring our local surroundings. And as Conrad Dublin is based in the heart of the City – it was a pleasure to stroll and explore at a leisurely pace.

- Iveagh Gardens – four minutes walk.
- The playground at Stephens Green Park – five minutes walk.
- The Little Museum of Dublin – eight minutes walk.
- Grand Canal – nine minutes walk.
- Natural History Museum – 10 minutes walk.
- National Gallery of Ireland – 11 minutes walk.
- Grafton Street – 12 minutes walk.
We had a wonderfully festive family stay, thanks to our luxury accommodation but also thanks to the wonderful Conrad Dublin staff who made us feel welcome. This perfect combination makes us want to return again – with or without the boys!
