And here we are on the cusp in Samhain (November) and winter is creeping up upon us. We’ll soon be celebrating the end of the lighter half of the year and welcoming in the darker half with Oiche Shamhna (Eve of Samhain).

Carved pumpkins and turnips all over the country are certainly starting to see that their days of glory will soon be up. And I highly recommend carving a turnip head because they get more and more interesting as the time laps on.

Did you roast those pumpkin seeds like I recommended – salted, cinnamon and chilli is just what the doctor ordered – it’ll knock those Halloween cobwebs off.

And as we count the days till the next holiday season of reindeers and car antlers, jingle bells and Santa smells, the madness of over-giving, the pressure of presents, when in fact it’s simply our presence that’s most important.
