3 Quick Travel Tips – Packing for a Winter Sun Getaway

Packing for a Winter Sun Getaway Tip #1

Sunscreen

Of course, if you’re heading to a sunny destination, you should make sure to pack plenty of sunscreen. There are countless brands available and you can get different sun protection factors based on your individual needs. You can also generally choose from creams, oils and sprays for different application methods or textures.

Usually, the higher the SPF, the better. If you are travelling with children, or are planning spending more time in the water, you should make sure to get water resistant sunscreen too. To protect your eyes, make sure that your sunglasses are UV protectant and that you also use a hat to cover your head.

Mosquito Repellent

Take some time to look into whether mosquitos are common in the place that you’re visiting. If there’s a risk of malaria, you may have to take a course of anti malarial tablets, which your doctor will be able to prescribe you when you book an appointment for your travel vaccinations and other travel health information.

If there’s no risk of malaria, but mosquitos are still present, make sure to pack mosquito repellents and cream for mosquito bites. If you want further protection, there are mosquito nets that you can purchase to cover your bed while you sleep.

The Right Clothes

Sure, we might be wrapping up warm at home now that the weather is on the decline, but you need to make sure that you pack the right clothes for the climate you’re planning on spending time in. Do some research and make sure you have a good idea of what the temperature, humidity and weather is like in your chosen destination at this time of year.

You should also make sure that you pack for the activities you’re planning on doing. If you’re simply going to be lounging by the pool and letting your hair down, plenty of sandals and flip flops will probably suffice. However, if you’re going to be engaging in activities like trekking or hiking, you will need to add in extras like hiking boots.
