Ten Irish Designed Jewellery You’ll Yearn to Possess
Irish Design is alive and kicking in every shape and form. This post however is concentrating on Irish Jewellery Design, prepare to covet!
I have chosen just ten Irish Designed jewellery (believe me it was hard work to narrow the list down) by ten Irish /Irish based Designers.
Each piece of jewellery is very different to the next. Each with its own unique quality, made from different metals and materials, priced accordingly, to me, have no age limit for suitability and are stylish rather than a passing fad, making them pieces you could cherish for your lifetime or in some cases longer.
Apart from nature having a very strong influence across many of the jewellery designs I’ve chosen, the only common element amongst all the jewellery is that they have been created by passionate and talented Designers who deserve your support … and for that reason I’ve included each Designers website and social media channels.
Aidan Smyth – Corona Pendant €260.00
Aidan Smyth is both a Dubliner and Dublin based. He’s a past student of the Grennan Mills in Kilkenny and a Fine Art Graduate from Crawford College of Art and Design in Cork. He takes inspiration from archeology, science, history and sociology.
He describes the Corona Pendant as:
“A beautiful freshwater pearl nestles inside a cage of 18ct ghard gold plated silver antiqued sterling silver and burnished silver. Hangs on a diamond cut trace chain.”
Edge Only – POW Letters Necklace €219.00
Produced in Ireland, Edge Only was founded by Jenny Huston. Described as a brand for ‘individuals and black sheep’, inspiration for Edge Only’s designs come from Jenny’s own desire to wear luxury jewellery with an edge.
Edge Only describe the POW Letters Necklace as:
“A POWerfully awesome necklace! A large hallmarked, solid sterling silver Pow! necklace plated in 18 carat gold. The word POW … is centred on a 18 carat gold plated 16″ sterling silver belcher chain making the necklace approximately 18″/45cm in length. The necklace is finished with our hand stamped Edge tag. Average necklace weight is 7.3 grams (of fabulousness). From the Pop Art Collection.”
Sadhbh Nathan Designs – Cas Timpeall Pendant €110.00
I’ve been following Sadhbh on Instagram for some time now and just love where she gets her inspiration from. Dublin based Sadhbh graduated from the National College of Art and Design with a Degree in Craft Design, specialising in Metalsmithing and Jewellery.
Sadhbh describes Cas Timpeall Pendant as a:
“… reversible pendant … With a choice of finishes on the back, faceted, scratch, matte, or high polish. The small pattern detail in the pendant is available centered, to the left/right or overflowing. All jewellery is handmade and will slightly vary from each other, but that’s what makes them unique.”
Alan Ardiff – New Leaf Pendant €198.00
Dublin based Alan is a graduate from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. He creates his jewellery from a combination of gold and silver and a number of his creations feature kinetic parts just like the New Leaf Pendant – very cute. His inspiration comes from day-dreaming and the mission to produce heart-warming creations.
Alan describes New Leaf Pendant as:
“You can turn over your own leaf with the little handle – silver leaf on reverse. Silver with 18kt gold”
Eily O’Connell – Pistachio Stud Earrings with Sea Horizon Enamelling €115.00
Eily O’Connell is a graduate of the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. Currently based in Bristol in the UK, Eily takes inspiration for her creations from the nature that surrounds her. I love her piece of advice for caring for her designs “Ignore any jealous looks whilst wearing your jewellery.”
Eily describes Pistachio Stud Earrings as:
“Earring studs cast from pistachio nuts into solid silver with blue enamel gradiating from light to ocean blue like the horizon when looking out to sea. Each one and pair will be unique as they are cast from real pistachio shells. Handmade by Eily and handpainted by wet packing enamel and fired in kiln to almost 800 degrees! These ones have been fired 3 times to achieve the colour gradient.”

Inspiration for Khrystyna’s creations come from nature and the mission to create wonder.
Khrystyna describes Silver Dandelion Wish Ring as:
