Urban Decay XX Vice Ltd Reloaded and Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
Urban Decay is one of the world’s best loved beauty brands. I’ve mentioned them before on the blog, quite some time ago mind you, in the form of – Best Beauty Buy in a While – Naked 2 Palette and Best Beauty Buy in a While – Urban Decay Glide-On Eye Pencil – Perversion. This Beauty Fix is all about the Urban Decay XX Vice Ltd Reloaded and Perversion Mascara.
Urban Decay XX Vice Ltd Reloaded
2016 marked Urban Decay’s 12th Anniversary and to celebrate they introduced a series of limited-edition products called UD XX. The first of these products to be released was the UD XX Vice Ltd Reloaded.
“This ultra limited-edition collection features 20 addictive shades of Eyeshadow that span our entire 20-year history. From vintage shades that go WAY back (like Gash, Acid Rain and UV-B) to must-haves from our current collection, it’s all here. There are even a few new shades and several cult favorites from past palettes.” urbandecay.com
Open the gorgeously gothic coloured Urban Decay XX box and you are welcomed with a very snazzy looking case that holds all twenty of the Urban Decay shades inside.
Of course Urban decay don’t stop with the 20 shades of eyeshadow alone, you are also treated to a full size mirror, and double ended eyeshadow brush. Perfect.
Taking a closer look at the shades with descriptions courtesy of Urban Decay:

- Twice Baked – rich brown satin w/gold micro-glitter
- Anonymous – pale peachy cream matte
Urban Decay eyeshadow applies easily, blends easily and lasts. It’s always recommended to wear an eyeshadow primer to get complete longevity. However with saying I find that this shadow still goes the distance for me and if after 10 hours of wearing I do get slight crease lines, a simple smudge with my finger usually offers a quick fix if I don’t have the palette at hand to reapply.
The colours in this palette will take you from night to day, from weekday to weekend, from you neutral days to the days you feel like adding more colour. Remember shadow can also be worn like eyeliner both on the eyelids and below – a hint of colour can always make your eyes or outfit pop!
“We included three totally NEW shades, five vintage shades, five exclusives from past palettes (like Vice, Vice Ltd and Book of Shadows Vol II), and seven bestsellers from our collection of singles. The kind of palette anybody can use, UD XX Vice Ltd Reloaded offers something for everyone. And this is the first time several of these shades have been available in our revamped shadow formula!” urbandecay.com
Urban Decay XX Vice Ltd Reloaded RRP is around €46 but get it while you can – as a limited product there is limited stock!
Urban Decay Perversion – Bigger Blacker Badder Mascara
I love mascara, and I love this mascara. As a wearer of the eyeliner in the shape of a cat flick or a smokey eye, the best way make sure my lashes look their best is to dress them up in mascara – the blacker the better – and this mascara does exactly what it says on the tin. Bigger, Blacker, Badder.
Urban Decay Perversion mascara is sleek on the outside.
“Perversion has a creamy, full-bodied texture that’s not too dry, not too wet. This allows just the right amount of “pull” so it glides through lashes. The result: incredible control for insane lashes. Go ahead and pile on coat after coat. Want to apply more before you go out at night? No problem. Even if it’s been all day since you applied, more Perversion always means more beautiful lashes. Our formula NEVER gets brittle or clumpy.” urbandecay.com
… and I have to agree … On the inside it offers a gorgeously black smooth volumising mascara, and the specially designed twisted in style brush does allow for an application that’s easy and effective. Easy in the sense that it coats your lashes in its mascara. Effective in the sense that it volumises and helps to lengthen your lashes to give them that extra ‘va va voom’.
However and this is a big HOWEVER – after some use, I found the mascara to get very clumpy and messy around the brush and the brush area including the lid. The mess around the brush meant that the application of the mascara in my mind was less effective. The mess around the brush area and lid meant that I found myself (on numerous occasions) wiping the mascara off the outside of the bottle, which as you can imagine is very frustrating.
Urban Decay Perversion mascara’s RRP is €22.00 but I can’t see myself purchasing it again once this one is polished off.
