Isn’t it funny that one of the most idolised, beautiful and famous of all movie stars EVER had curly hair. Isn’t it mad that she didn’t try to tame her mane but on the contrary emphasised her curls. Isn’t it also a bit mad that boys (men) get away with their curls and are actually adored for them … here’s a handful of famous men, from the past and present …

… but yet thousands, no, millions of us gals straighten the life out of our hair every day, with straightening products, irons and blow dries. I’ve met some gorgeous ladies who wouldn’t be seen dead in public with their naturally curly hair, subjecting themselves to early morning rises to straighten the bejaysuz out of their locks before they face the light of day, a little extreme, I feel … but I’m not here to judge and whatever makes you happy I’m all for. However you feel more beautiful, I’m all for. I’d be a complete hypocrite if I said I don’t get my hair straightened every now and then and feel fabulous when I do but what I will say to those naturally curly-haired girls (women) amongst us is … Don’t be afraid to ‘Embrace Your Curl Girls!’ … even now and then! Curls are fabulous and if you were born with them they have to suit you!

I read somewhere recently that it took Nicola Kidman a naturally curly-haired and very famous lady, forty years to accept her naturally curly hair and all for the sake of her youngest daughter who was born with the same wild ringlets as herself.

I’m not saying throw away the straighteners and straightening products. I’m not anti-straight hair for ladies with naturally curly hair. I’m just sayin’, to naturally curly-haired girls, every now and then, wash and condition your hair, add a little leave-in conditioner or mouse and let your curls breathe – embrace them because they are beautiful and unique! That’s all.

Here’s Nicola and a handful famous naturally curly-haired female stars who aren’t ashamed of what they were born with and embrace their unique quality …
