Bobbi Brown – Lilac Rose Eye Palette
Not that I really needed another eyeshadow but I decided to treat myself last week when I saw the new Bobbi Brown Lilac Rose Eye Palette on display in the Beauty Hall at one of my favourite stores – it was being promoted as part of the new Bobbi Brown Lilac & Rose Collection for 2013. Now I say treat myself, as the palette came to €57 … to me that’s a treat especially when I’m supposed to be saving … actually it’s not a treat it’s me being a bold cailín, but you know what?, it isn’t bad value when you realise what you get.
So what do you get?
The palette is a mix and match eye shadow palette of eight colours which have been described as a ‘modern take on spring florals’ (www.bobbibrowncosmetics.com) and are just perfect for all skin tones. There are lots of looks you can create as the eye shadows range in colours and textures. The neutrals and pinks are perfect for that low key, natural fresh look. You can play around with the metallic shades to add a little shimmer to this neutral look for example the Pink Lily Metallic Eye Shadow is great for adding a touch of shimmer to the brow bone (just under your eyebrows). You can also build on the neutrals, pinks and metallics to create a more intense look and if you want to create a smokey eye effect well that has been catered for too with the Black Chocolate Eye Shadow which might I add doubles-up as an eyeliner! Sure where would you be going?
I love the palette and I’m still, after having it for almost a week, playing around with the different textures and colours. The packaging is great as the palette opens up to a mirror, has four eye shadows on top and four on a sliding shelf/drawer on the bottom which is nice and compact. Is it a recommendation? Will Bobbi Brown’s Lilac Rose Eye Palette be joining my makeup essentials … I say YAY for sure it will … the way I feel at the moment … I don’t own any other eye shadows!
