O’Hara’s Barrel Aged Series: Leann Folláin Irish Stout
This week I would like to recommend a special bevvy from the Carlow Brewing Company called O’Hara’s Leann Folláin Irish Stout from their Barrel Aged Series.
O’Hara’s started their ‘Barrel Aged Series’ back in 2012 when they age their beers in ex Irish whiskey casks for about 90 days. Leann Folláin extra stout was an excellent stout to start with but with the mix of the residue whiskey from the cask and the oak – this bevvy was taken it to another level.
This barrel age stout is rich and full, and quite the mouthful. Soft chocolate and caramel flavours develop followed by the warmth of the whiskey with a bitter finish.
If you are a stout lover this is one to try for sure.
It comes in a 750ml bottle and is 8.1% abv. A bottle should cost around €10.

Enjoy, Sláinte,
Patrick
