New Balance and Athletic’s Ireland Partnership Announcement – Dublin, January 30th
Yesterday evening I had the pleasure of attending the official announcement of the partnership between New Balance and Athletics Ireland. It marked a special union between New Balance, a global athletics brand who stems from Boston and our own home grown talented athletes. The evening was a huge success and it really has made my week.
So what went on?
Well, we were greeted with smiles, music and a fantastic display of New Balance trainers. The displays really showed the different styles and colours that are available. I particularly loved the way the feature ‘foot’ wall in the bar was used to display some of the styles. A feature that Tom Carleo, New Balance Vice President of Footwear Running/Outdoor also made reference to later in the evening … it all seemed apt. After taking a few photo’s here and there and getting a very special goodie bag we grabbed a drink and soaked in the chilled and happy atmosphere.
Next up, both Tom Carleo and John Foley, Athletics Ireland Chief Executive Officer gave interesting and inspiring talks. It was a real pleasure to hear them both talk about the partnership with passion and I really looked forward to seeing our Irish Athlete stars Jessie Barr, Colin Costello, Ciara Mageean, Fionnuala Britton, Thomas Barr and Ava Hutchinson arrive on stage. They all looked fantastic! and sure it helps being as fit as fiddles as they all are!
After photo calls and interviews aside we enjoyed a banquet of food and the last of our drinks. Kudos to the Market Bar … t’was some spread! and thank you to S & X Media for organising a great evening.
A HUGE congrats to New Balance and Athletics Ireland and BEST WISHES for a long and happy partnership.
Oh and what was in the goodie bag? Well, how about a pair of New Balance Revlite trainers! Whoop! They fit like a glove … I can’t wait to try them out at Zumba tomorrow and for my evening jogs! A copy of the 2013 Irish Runner Yearbook… this will definitely motivate me and a pack of New Balance Shoe Freshners … but my feet smell like roses! … okay maybe not all the time …
Note: Patrick and I were gratefully invited to the Launch Party through The Life of Stuff by New Balance and Athletics Irealand through S&X Media, however all the words and opinions are my own … sure who else’s would they be?
