Beavertown Brewery IPA
This week I would like to recommend two very different IPA’s from the Beavertown Brewery in London. Beavertown Brewery was set up back in 2011 by Logan Plant and is going from strength to strength.
Beavertown – 8 Ball Rye IPA : This is a very full on IPA, you might even think it’s a double IPA because of its weight and colour. It has very powerful aromas of hops and tropical fruit.
The taste is a bit more mellow though. The weight is there but the flavours are a bit more relaxed. This IPA has a little spiciness to it that you don’t get with most IPA’s and has soft citrus and caramel flavours. It packs a punch at 6.2% abv and will set you back about €4 per 330ml can.
Beavertown – Neck Oil Session IPA : This IPA is totally different from the 8 Ball. It’s much lighter in colour and weight. It has a nice golden colour, some hop and tropical flavours and is very refreshing. This is definitely a session IPA. Neck Oil is much lighter in alcohol than the 8 ball at 4.3% abv and costs around the same price.
Enjoy, Sláinte,
Patrick
