Bevvy of the Week – Belgian Blond Beer – Affligem

This week I would like to recommend a Belgian beer call Affligem.

Belgium produce some really excellent and world renowned beers. Before the craft beer explosion here in Ireland if you wanted a quality beer Belgian beer was the way to go.

Affligem is a 6.8% double fermented blond beer.

It’s high in alcohol like most Belgian beers but it doesn’t really feel like it. It’s smooth with lots of fruit flavours going on. There’s a soft hop character to it with a touch of malt.
