Their Spa and Wellness provides you with a luxurious escape from the hustle and bustle with treatments, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and their ‘to die for’ infinity pool.
Patrick treated us to a night’s stay last weekend for my birthday and I was very happy with our experience there.
Check-in is 3pm, so if like us you are a little early why not take a leaf out of our book and order a delicious cocktail, sit outside and chill. These elderflower based martini’s were gorgeous and the seating area outside the hotel was quite chilled so we returned there later in the evening too.
We were more than happy with our room. It had that stylish minimalistic feel to it but yet it was warm and inviting.
The bed was a fine size and so comfortable … do not lie down on yours before you go out as you risk not leaving it!
The room had a secret minibar, iPod or iPhone docking station, flat screen T.V. and free wireless, as well as all the usual stuff that you’d expect like hair dryer, ironing board, safe, robes and slippers. What more could you ask for? … how about a sexy sleek bathroom with a bath that comfortably fits two (just saying) and a walk-in shower that could fit a small family? … DONE!
But what about the view from your room? Well this was ours …
We didn’t dine at the hotel for dinner as we attended ‘taste of Dublin’ in the Iveagh Gardens but we returned to the hotel at about 7pm with full intentions to stay there for the night. The Marker Hotel made it very easy to fulfill these intentions so …
Roof Top Bar and Terrace
What next? How about drinks on the Roof Top Bar and Terrace? Stunning views of the streets and buildings below, the Irish Sea and Dublin Mountains. People, Barge and boat watching.
All topped off with a fantastic sunset. I can’t promise you’ll be spoilt like I was … a bottle of Bollinger Champagne followed by cocktails … make mine a Long Island Iced Tea
With the Roof Top Bar and Terrace closing we made our way downstairs to the ground floor bar and delighted in the talents of Mixologist Michael O’Shea who even popped out to explain our delicious choices, his concoctions … my goodness they were delicious …
The next morning following a hearty breakfast. The choice was excellent and we nibbled our way through the self-service banquet. Hot full Irish Fry, cold Continental meats and cheese, eggs whichever way you’d like them. My choice was to have Eggs Benedict and I asked for it to be served with Smoked Irish Salmon. I got what I asked for and it did not disappoint.
After breakfast and a little lie down to recoup we made our way to the Spa and Wellness. I’ve included a shot of the gym which we didn’t make use of. What we did make use of was the ‘to die for’ Infinity Pool. It’s a must if you are staying here. Relax in the jacuzzi and then shower off and refresh in the pool. Heaven.
Both Patrick and I enjoyed our stay at The Marker Hotel. As a matter of fact Patrick liked it so much he encouraged his mum to book a nights stay. And for us that is the highest compliment.
We look forward to returning. I want to try their famous Le Drunch. And I can’t believe we didn’t order a box of Cronuts to go. Ah well any excuse for another visit!
