New Improved Neutrogena Hydro Boost Range with NEW Active Ingredient!
I’ve been a fan of the Neutrogena Hydro Boost range for some time, having received a sample of the range’s facial cream and recovery masks at a PR event some moons ago. Fast forward a few years and the products featured in this Beauty Fix article are both a combination of recent PR samples I’ve received and purchases I’ve made. A nice combination and good reflection on how I feel about the range.

So what’s new about the ‘New Improved Neutrogena Hydro Boost’?
The team of experts responsible for Neutrogena are constantly innovating and researching the science of skincare. Always looking towards improving their products and finding solutions to help combat the skincare issues we face, from signs of fatigue to stress – there is no doubt that the biggest hurdle to jump over is the issue of hydration.
Our skin is the body’s first line of defense and the ultimate barrier. One of the skin’s main functions is protection, which includes defense against environmental insults. The skin’s function also includes a moisture barrier, antimicrobial barrier, antioxidant barrier and photoprotection barrier. It is also crucial for regulation of water and salt homeostatis, helping to keep us hydrated and looking radiant. But sometimes it needs a helping hand’

We know that eating healthier, drinking water and getting enough sleep has the most impact on how our skin looks but sometimes we need a helping hand and so for most of us, it’s not just a case of what we put into our body but also what we put on it.
And so welcome to ‘New Improved Neutrogena Hydro Boost’ which is not only powered by hyaluronic acid but also includes trehalose, which according to the Neutrogena experts is hyaluronic acid’s best friend!
Neutrogena has harnessed the power of this small but mighty botanical, sourced from the resurrection plant, in this next generation of the Hydro Boost range. Surviving in some of the world’s harshest environments, the resurrection plant can miraculously live for up to 50 years without water. It is trehalose within this plant that helps it to retain what little hydration it has, allowing the plant to rejuvenate when it finally comes into contact with water’

Protection
- Neutrogena Hydro Boost City Shield Hydrating Lotion SPF25 RRP €12.78
If you lived in my town you’d be well acquainted with the sight of me zipping about on my cargo bike with my two little boys, to school, the shops and sports practice. I love the feel of the wind on my face, and the suns rays. But we all know the damage that elements can do to ones skin, and so sun, rain, hail or snow I do my utmost to apply some kind of SPF before I leave the house on my high nelly.
UVA rays penetrate deep into the dermis and unprotected exposure can lead to premature skin ageing and wrinkling (photoaging). UVB rays will usually burn the superficial layers of your skin and play a key role in the development of skin cancer. This shouldn’t be neglected on overcast days as 70-80% of the sun’s rays penetrate clouds and fog. Aside from this, you also want a photostable sunscreen which won’t degrade as soon as light hits it’
