Wyndham Estate Bin 555
There are certain grape varieties that spring to mind when I think about certain wine-producing countries. Argentina – Malbac, Chile – Carmenere, Spain – Tempranillo , New Zealand – Sauvignon Blanc, the list goes on. All these countries produce great wines from many different grape varieties and all these grape varieties are widely planted in other wine-producing countries apart from the Tempranillo but I always associate these varieties with these countries, and when I think of Australia it’s no different.
The red grape variety Shiraz is the variety I associate most with Australia. Again, like all the other countries Australia produce top class wines from many other grape varieties but this grape stands out the most when I think of Australia. So this week’s Bevvy of the Week is going to be an Australian Shiraz, Wyndham Estate Bin 555
Wyndham Estate Bin 555 is a full-bodied red wine. The wine delivers rich flavours of plums and dark berries and the Shiraz also delivers on its trademark spice. This is a great wine and very well priced, a bottle will set you back about €11.
Enjoy, Sláinte,
Patrick
