World Class Christmas Cocktail Recipes
Some would say that Christmas time is the perfect time to put your culinary skills to the test. I say it’s also the perfect time of year to put your mixology skills to the test! Who cares whether the turkey was as dry as the Sahara Dessert and the brussels sprouts were burnt … get the ingredients in stock for these tantalising cocktails and dazzle your guests with their world-class flavours … they’ll be talking about your Christmas dinner until next year but by then it’ll be someone else’s turn to cook the turkey …
Ciroc Blue Stone
A touch of lemon and vanilla enhances the exquisitely smooth, fresh CIROC experience for true sensory indulgence.
- 40ml Ciroc
- 15ml Lemon Juice
- 10ml Vanilla Syrup
- Soda Water
- Dark Grape
Shake 40ml CIROC, 15ml lemon juice and 10ml vanilla syrup in a cocktail shaker. Pour through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled coupe glass, top with soda water and garnish with a dark grape.
Bartender’s Tip: If you don’t have a fine mesh strainer, try using a tea strainer instead. You might even like to make your own vanilla syrup, dissolving 1 part sugar into 2 parts boiling water, adding vanilla extract and a vanilla bean.
Don Julio Frosted Berry
- 60ml Don Julio blanco
- 20ml fresh lime juice
- 15ml Agave water
- 5 fresh blackberries
- 2 grinds of black pepper
- Agave and black pepper rim
Muddle blackberries, add the rest of the ingredients, shake hard and double strain into a rimmed rock glass over ice.
The black pepper and agave nectar lifts up the natural character of blanco tequila (Don Julio), balanced with fresh lime and some fresh blackberries for some extra depth and a fruity feel
Zacapa Christmas Cooler
- 60ml Ron Zacapa Rum
- 8 tablespoons of watermelon
- 2 dash Angostura bitters
- 15ml Mint Syrup
- 5x mint leaf
Muddle the watermelon in a cocktail shaker. Shake all the ingredients including the Ron Zacapa Rum together. Double strain into a chilled Martini glass.
Garnish: mint leaf
Tanqueray Christmas Cosmopolitan
- 30ml Tanqueray
- 10ml Grand Marnier
- 5ml Cherry liquor
- 20ml Cranberry juice
- Squeeze of fresh lime
Pour all ingredients including the Tanqueray into an ice filled cocktail shaker and shake hard. Strain into a chilled martini glass and serve neat with a maraschino as garnish.
Zacapa Festive Rum Butter Punch
Ingredients (Per serve)
- 50ml Ron Zacapa
- Small fingernail of butter
- Pinch of any spice including cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, clove, cardamom
- 10ml honey or Agave nectar
- 30ml hot water
Add all ingredients to a Punch bowl , stir and serve
