Bevvy of the Week – Schanzenbrau Helles Beer

Schanzenbrau Helles Beer

When we couldn’t attend a recent event, ‘Taste of NUE‘ – that was hosted by Albrecht Dürer Airport, Tourismus Nürnberg, Bayern and Schanzenbraeu at the 5 Lamps Brewery in Dublin – the lovely people behind the event got in touch to send us a little of what we could have enjoyed on the night – a bottle of Schanzenbrau Helles Beer, and a bottle of Rotes Weizen Beer, along with some 5 Lamps Brewery goodies.

And although we have yet to discover Nuremberg‘s most beautiful aspects in person, I certainly enjoyed the taster!

Needless to say one of the beers above has become a well-deserved ‘Bevvy of the Week‘ this week – the German beer Schanzenbrau Helles. The Helles style meaning that it’s a bright pale lager. Keep posted for the Schanzenbrau Rotes Weizen.

About Schanzenbrau Helles Beer

This style of beer originated from the southern part of Germany, and has become very popular across Germany and Europe. Helles is a very approachable style of beer, which may be down to its distinct malty and hoppy character.

Schanzenbrau Helles is no different. Bright and golden in colour with a nice frothy head. Full-bodied, with the classic malt and hop character Helles beers are renowned for.

A bottle will set you back around €4.50 per 500ml bottle. Alcohol content is 4.9% abv and available in all good Off-Licences, or breweries!

Enjoy, Sláinte,

Patrick
